The Simple Touch System has several distinct advantages over our original Fill Flush System. It offers the convenience of automatic operation, with auto shut off after 3 minutes. The system does not require a pre-installed valve, so the user may choose their own faucetry and handles and have them installed in the field. There is no need to specify the location of the valves with this system.
To use the Simple Touch System, simply close off the whirlpool jets,
pour some cleaning solution into the detergent feeder, press the cleaning
system on/off button on the deck of the tub, and walk away. The system
will run for 3 minutes, circulating water and detergent through the air
line, water line, and pump, out the suction, and down the drain. The system
will then automatically shut off, leaving the whirlpool bath sparkling
clean. After the Simple Touch System shuts off, open the jets again to
allow the water to drain.
For installation, the installing plumber will need to plumb a cold water
supply line to a port underneath the tub. The cold water port is controlled
by an electronic solenoid valve. The system's electrical requirement is
110 volt, 1 amp, enabling it to share a duplex receptacle with any pump
or air system blower.
Plumbing codes vary from state to state. Some states (check local plumbing codes) require that a special deck mounted atmospheric backflow prevention device be used in conjunction with our cleaning systems. We use the Breda valve for this purpose. The Breda is available in the following forms:
a. When the whirlpool is ordered with cleaning system only, the "stationary"
Breda is installed.
b. The "two-way" Breda is used with Fill Flush when an additional
filling device is desired such as a handheld shower, a filling spout,
overhead shower, cascading waterfall or any other single device. The valve
is twisted to divert water from 1. filling the bath through the jets to
2. any of the other devices.
c. The "three-way" Breda simply allows for a third device.
