| Northport Bath recommends tile flanges on any tub that is going to be used as a shower/tub. It is inexpensive insurance against water leaking down the wall behind the tub. It is less necessary on a tub which is not going to be used as a shower. The best flange is the integral flange (see below). | ||||||
|
The Integral Tile Flange is a 3/4" acrylic flange molded into the unit at the factory and is available only in a 3-sided flange for a rectangular tub and 2-sided flange for a corner tub. MTI is one of the few tub manufacturers who can turn any of their tubs (rectangular or corner units only) from being a rolled down edge to a rolled up edge (integral tile flange). Most other manufacturers (if they do anything at all) use the method below. |

| The Tile Flange Kit includes an ABS tile flange chemically bonded to the tub at the factory and finished with a silicone sealant to provide a watertight seal on 1, 2, or 3 sides of any rectangular tub or straight tub edge. | ||||||
